The European Union will include 60 individuals and organizations and 150 tankers in the 17th package of sanctions against Russia, Bloomberg reports. According to the agency, the number of tankers included in the sanctions list will grow to more than 300, all of which are prohibited from entering ports in European jurisdictions.
It should be noted that the European Commission proposed to ban EU countries from purchasing uranium and nuclear fuel from Russia.
Earlier, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, following talks with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington, said that the European Union is working on the 17th package of sanctions against Russia, coordinating its actions with the United States.
Barrot noted that the new EU sanctions are aimed at increasing pressure on Russia if it refuses to ceasefire. According to him, Russian President Vladimir Putin has shown no signs of readiness for peace with Ukraine.
