The European Union plans to submit a document to the United States next week outlining a package of proposals to begin trade talks with the administration of US President Donald Trump, Bloomberg reported on Wednesday, April 30.
According to sources, the document will propose measures to reduce trade and non-tariff barriers, increase European investment in the United States, cooperate in solving global problems, and purchase American goods, including liquefied natural gas (LNG) and technology.
However, plans may still change, since the European Commission, the EU’s executive body dealing with trade issues, continues to consult with member states.
On April 27, US President Donald Trump said that income taxes for US citizens could be reduced or completely eliminated after the US tariffs come into effect.
At the same time, Trump said that the United States can conclude trade agreements with all countries, including China and the European Union (EU), but only on terms that are fair for Washington.
