Iran has expressed its readiness to reduce the level of uranium enrichment, but on one condition: Tehran wants guarantees that the United States will not withdraw from the nuclear deal again.
This was reported by Reuters, citing an Iranian official.
According to him, Iran will not dismantle centrifuges as part of a possible agreement with the United States and does not intend to completely abandon uranium enrichment.
The official also stressed that Iran’s missile program is not covered by the nuclear deal and will not be the subject of future negotiations with Washington.
On April 12, the first round of indirect talks between Iran and the United States was held in Oman, dedicated to Tehran’s nuclear program and the lifting of sanctions. Iran was represented by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and the United States by the president’s special envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff.
