A Russian tanker under Western sanctions has docked in China. This was reported by Reuters, citing monitoring services.

According to their data, the Voskhod tanker entered the Chinese port of Teshan. The vessel is carrying 150 thousand cubic meters of liquefied natural gas.

The publication recalls that the first tanker, the Arctic Mulan, delivered cargo to China at the end of August. This is gas produced at the Arctic LNG-2 plant, which is under sanctions.

“The Arctic gas production project started in December 2023, but gas supplies are behind schedule due to a shortage of ice-class gas carriers and Western sanctions,” the publication notes.

The agency recalls that this happened after the meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with Chinese leader Xi Jinping at the summit in Tianjin.
