Elon Musk donated more than $45 million to his political committee, America PAC, in the first half of 2025, becoming one of the largest donors in this area in the United States, Bloomberg reported.
Such donations show that the richest man on the planet “is not yet ready to leave politics,” despite statements made at the Qatar Economic Forum in Doha in May about a significant reduction in future spending on supporting political campaigns, the agency believes.
The first six months of 2025 were difficult for Musk, who until recently coordinated the work of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and, in fact, was part of the inner circle of US President Donald Trump. Musk actively supported Trump’s presidential campaign in 2024, according to American media estimates, donating $119-150 million through America PAC.
After leaving government service, Musk and Trump had a highly public conflict on social networks on June 5. The businessman noted that without his support, the head of the US administration would not have won the November 2024 elections, would not have approved the idea of a new attempt to impeach Trump, would not have criticized the White House-initiated government spending bill and the import tariffs imposed by the president. Trump called Musk a madman and said that at some point he ceased to perform his duties in good faith when he oversaw the work of DOGE.
