Another 100 billion for Ukraine

The European Union is considering the possibility of allocating another 100 billion euros to support Ukraine, Bloomberg writes with reference to sources.

If the decision is approved, the new fund could become part of the next seven-year EU budget, which is due to be presented at the end of July. Payments could begin in 2028.

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine three and a half years ago, the EU has allocated almost 160 billion euros in grants and loans to Kyiv.

According to the agency’s source, Europe is considering this option, since the Russian-Ukrainian war “shows no signs of ending.” Funding for Kyiv will begin to be allocated if member states make this decision as part of the budget negotiations.
