The North Atlantic Alliance must continue to support Ukraine for its defense needs, and the organization’s member states have agreed to allocate 35 billion euros to Kyiv, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said.
“Our support and defense of Ukraine will be unwavering and will not cease. European and Canadian allies have already committed – we can talk about this now – to provide 35 billion euros in aid to Ukraine by the end of the year,” Rutte said on Monday at a press conference in The Hague, where the NATO summit will be held on June 24-25.
“Initially, this figure was supposed to be only 20 billion euros, but now 35 billion has already been agreed. Therefore, we reaffirm our current support for Ukraine,” the Secretary General recalled.
