Turkey will increase imports of Russian Urals oil in June to a 12-month high of 1.64 million tonnes, Reuters reports, citing two sources and data from the ship tracking system at the LSEG terminal.
According to the publication, Turkish refineries have increased imports of the grade amid attractive refinery margins and seasonal growth in demand for motor fuel in the region.
The previous peak of Urals imports by Turkey occurred in May 2024, when the country’s refineries received 1.76 million tonnes of the grade, according to data at the LSEG terminal.
Turkey has been increasing imports of Urals for the third month in a row, and the increase in supplies compared to March 2025 amounted to more than 800,000 tonnes, which supports demand and prices for the grade in a key sales market – India.
The main ports for the delivery of Urals oil to Turkey with arrival in June were the Russian Baltic ports of Primorsk and Ust-Luga, with total shipments of about 1.4 million tons, while about 0.2 million tons of the grade were shipped from Novorossiysk.
