The US and Chinese authorities will continue trade and economic talks in the UK capital on June 10.
According to Bloomberg, citing sources, the discussions lasted more than six hours the day before. The talks will resume at 10:00 London time (13:00 Baku time).
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent called the talks held on June 9 “good,” while Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick described them as “fruitful.” The US delegation also includes trade negotiator Jamison Greer.
The Chinese side is headed by Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China He Lifeng. He did not speak to journalists after the first day of talks.
The mechanism for trade and economic consultations between the two countries was created following a meeting in Geneva on May 10-11. At that time, the parties agreed to partially reduce mutual duties, the volume of which exceeded 100% by May.
On June 5, Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump held a telephone conversation and agreed to speed up a new round of talks.
