U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal and Lindsey Graham (listed by Russia’s financial monitoring agency as a terrorist and extremist), authors of a bill introducing new “crippling” sanctions against Russia, hope to have it passed before the upcoming G7 summit. This was reported by Bloomberg.

“By the G7 summit, we hope that the sanctions will be implemented in coordination with Europe to send a clear message to China,” the senators stated.

They emphasized the need to “take action” against China and India to stop them from purchasing Russian oil. Blumenthal and Graham also noted that the sanctions bill has broad support in the Senate, with 82 out of 100 senators in favor.

The G7 summit will be held in Canada from June 15 to 17.

Earlier, Senator Graham met in Turkey with representatives from Ukraine and European countries and presented them with the bill on “devastating” sanctions against Russia. The document includes provisions for imposing tariffs on countries that purchase Russian oil, gas, and other resources.
