China Already Has 10G Internet

Huawei and China Unicom have launched the first 10G broadband network, Mydrivers reports.

The network is available in the Xiong’an area near Beijing.

“Huawei and China Unicom have joined forces to successfully launch the first 10G broadband network in the Xiong’an new area. The deployment of 10G broadband is based on the world’s first 50G PON solution,” the publication writes.

The actual download speed over the 10G network reaches 9834 Mbps, the upload speed is 1008 Mbps. Latency has been reduced to three milliseconds.

The technology is called promising for the development of future applications and services that require high bandwidth, in particular, for augmented and virtual reality.
