The New York Times previously wrote that the introduction of new trade duties in the US could lead to an increase in the cost of Apple products.
The decision of the Donald Trump administration to increase tariffs on imported goods affects many countries where Apple assembles its products. The highest tariffs have been introduced in Vietnam (46%), China (34%) and India (26%).
In this regard, Apple, as noted in the article, will face a choice: to cover additional costs on its own, which will negatively affect profits, or to raise prices on products, shifting the costs to consumers.
