The European Union does not intend to extend the “visa-free trade” with Ukraine after it expires on June 5, 2025, reports “European Pravda”.

According to the European official, after this date, the terms of trade between Ukraine and the EU will return to pre-war conditions, and new trade preferences will not be introduced.

The source noted that from June 6, 2025, the autonomous trade measures introduced by the EU after the start of Russia’s full-scale aggression will end. In particular, trade preferences for Ukraine on such goods as chicken meat, eggs, honey and others will cease.

However, changes to the free trade area concluded within the framework of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU are being discussed. The EU, together with the Ukrainian side, plans to propose favorable changes, including leaving preferences for some product categories, such as steel.

In addition, changes to Article 29 of the Association Agreement are being considered in order to create trade conditions that are beneficial to both sides and support the economy of Ukraine, which is suffering from the war.
