On June 11-13, the annual FEAS 11th OnSite training took place in Yerevan officially hosted this year by AMX – Armenia Securities Exchange and Central Depository. The program is intended for representatives of FEAS member exchanges and depositories. Its goal is to foster the creation of new collaborations, exchange of experiences, and acquisition of new knowledge.
FEAS conducts such training programs every year, hosted by one of its members. In previous years, hosts included the Athens Stock Exchange (ATHEX), the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), the Iran Fara Bourse, the Egyptian Exchange, and others.
This year, during the annual FEAS General Assembly, AMX took on the role of host. During the three-day training, leading specialists from the Armenia Securities Exchange and Central Depository shared their years of experience, innovative programs, and future plans. Participants presented their countries’ experiences and compared their processes with those of Armenia.
The program was attended by 17 delegates from 11 FEAS member companies, including stock exchanges and depositories from Iran, Macedonia, Oman, Kazakhstan, Greece, Jordan and Uzbekistan.
According to Hayk Yeganyan, CEO of the Armenia Securities Exchange, this is an excellent opportunity to bring together specialists from different exchanges and get to know each other’s work more deeply: “Often, specialists do not even imagine how even the simplest stock transaction occurs in another country’s exchange, governed by different regulations, and this is a great precedent for hearing and learning from different perspectives.”
“I consider it important for specialists to constantly communicate with each other, and we always support the training of our specialists both abroad and in Armenia,” said Vahan Stepanyan, Director of the Central Depository of Armenia.
FEAS Secretary General Konstantin Saroyan highlighted the importance of the FEAS Onsite Training as a platform for promoting cooperation and knowledge sharing among experts from FEAS Member Companies.
“This event is a significant platform for knowledge exchange among experts from various countries,” said Saroyan. “Participants will benefit greatly by traveling and gaining firsthand insights and experiences from their international counterparts. I am grateful to the Armenia Securities Exchange and Central Depository of Armenia for hosting the 11th edition of FEAS Onsite Training in Yerevan, Armenia. I appreciate the comprehensive three-day program and the inclusion of cultural events, which will enrich the overall experience.”
For Armenia and especially the AMX group, this was an excellent opportunity to share their experience, receive feedback on implemented programs, find new allies in the financial market, and establish collaborations.
We are hopeful that such programs will continue and set a precedent for other companies to organize similar training programs and engage specialists from international companies.
